How to suck like crazy.

If you are new here,I so much appreciate your presence!

This is a story that happened during my early days on Twitter..

It brought about a turning point in my journey and I bet it's going to help you too:

Upwork.

It was 3 months since I joined Twitter.

I have learnt the basis of copywriting and was already getting clients.

But you know the needs of humans are insatiable.

I wanted more clients and I learnt that I can get clients from Upwork.

Mehn.

I was super excited.

I even shared my plan with my Twitter tribe at that time.

It seemed quite easy so I decided to try it out.

I started making research on how to set up my profile..

> Watched lots of YouTube videos.

> Read lots of books/articles.

> Listened to podcasts.

I wanted setting up the most perfect profile and also writing the best cover letter.

To this end all of these took me 14 days to complete.

I even went to read their T&C!

Yea,I know I'm weird 😂

This is not the end.

You know I'm new in the game and I have to pitch clients..

I went back to YouTube to download about 5 videos with duration of 1hr each..This took another 2 weeks for me to learn.

Lol, after an additional 1 week I was ready with my perfect "proposal"

I wanted to get a positive reply.

But guess what?

I didn't get any reply. So I just gave up,I concluded that I can't make it there.

Now this experience taught me something:

At the start of something new…

There are lever moving tasks and non lever moving tasks

Let me explain.

Let's say you decide to create a product, an E book to be specific.

Lever moving tasks:

> Gathering ideas.

> Writing daily

> Editing and proofreading.

Non lever moving tasks.

> Getting the best book cover.

> Finding what colors to use

> Picking the best name

The problem with the last group is doing them first, gives you a false sense of progress.

You feel like you're moving forward but in reality you're stuck at a place. And haven't done anything.

Most times the cause of this is the fear of the unknown.

We fear what happens if we start so much that our brain makes us do the tasks that has no risk of failure whatsoever.

And if you give in? You risk not starting at all.

You see… there's something about admitting to yourself and to the world that you're new and that you're going to suck.

This way you're allowed to fail without feeling bad.

The key here is to tell yourself to allow yourself to fail.

And then throw yourself into it.

You'll get better a lot faster.

It's sad that so many fall into the learning trap.

Learn. Learn until...

They need to learn a bit more just to "master" that concept...

Only to realize that they would never be ready.

That they should have taken a step forward sooner.

Don't get stuck in the learning loop.

How to suck like crazy:

Practice.

Suck.

Suck.

Suck.

Suck

Suck

Suck

Suck less

Suck less

Suck less

Till you suck no more.

Rooting for you.
